Every third week, a woman dies as a result of domestic violence.

Qasa has started HusFrid, so that more women and children affected by violence can receive help finding a new home.

Do you need help finding a new home due to domestic violence?

Domestic violence is a significant societal issue that primarily affects thousands of women and children across Sweden. Often, this violence leads to financial difficulties that make it challenging to move. Due to the limited availability and opportunities within the municipal housing queue, many are forced to remain in violent situations against their will.

The latest fatality review also shows that a recurring problem was that victims did not receive help to relocate to a permanent residence to escape the perpetrator. This is why Qasa, the leading platform for housing rentals in Sweden, have launched the initiative HusFrid, to help victims of domestic violence find a new home.

Starting a new life far from the abuser is difficult. Victims of domestic violence often lack the financial resources or the support network to move beyond their current neighborhood. It can be difficult to afford a deposit and to get in touch with a landlord. Additionally, to obtain a rental lease with a protected identity can be complicated.

The housing shortage should not stand in the way of living a life free from violence.

Around 200,000 children live in homes where there are different types of violence.
