How it works

We have launched the initiative “HusFrid” to help those who are exposed to domestic violence find a safe place to live. In addition to the standard services that Qasa offers, HusFrid is designed to provide additional support and assistance in finding a secure home.

In need of a homeSupport Coordinators

Most properties on Qasa are sublets with varying durations, and many are available for at least one year. Qasa does not offer emergency housing but supports those affected by violence in finding a long-term housing solution. As a support coordinator, you play an important role in the initiation process. Here’s how it works:

Certificate of Need – The client contacts their social services or women's shelter for a certificate confirming the need for HusFrid. The certificate does not need to include details about the client’s specific situation. You, as the support coordinator, should send the certificate to husfrid@qasa.se. We will then get back to you with a time for a digital introduction meeting. If desired, you can also attend the meeting and the property viewings. We always consider the safety plan developed in contact with the client.

Housing Search and Lease – During the housing search and lease period, the client will receive priority support and have a dedicated contact person at Qasa. The rental is deposit-free, meaning the client will not need to pay any upfront deposit, and no credit check is required. The first rent payment is due 10 days after the move-in date, and subsequent payments are due monthly before the 27th. A service fee of 4.95% of the rent applies, but this is included in the advertised rent, so there are no hidden costs.

Feel free to contact us with any questions!

Home Insurance

We have partnered with the insurance company Hedvig, which offers a home insurance plan specifically designed for private rentals (50% discount for the first 3 months).

It’s important that you, as the tenant, have valid home insurance, regardless of whether the landlord has one or not. If the property is furnished, you should also consider adding coverage for personal belongings and all-risk insurance.

List of inventories

Upon moving in, we recommend creating an inventory to document the condition of the property, along with an inventory list.

Change of Address

You should register in the municipality where the property is located. You can easily change your address with BankID via the Swedish Tax Agency.

For Support Coordinators

Contact a Women’s Shelter or Social Services

Contact your women's shelter or social services for a certificate that entitles you to housing assistance through Husfrid. The certificate does not need to include details about your specific situation. The certificate should be sent by your contact person to husfrid@qasa.se, where you can also reach us.

Introduction Meeting with Qasa

Once we have reviewed the certificate, we will schedule an introduction meeting where we will answer any questions you may have.

Create an Account on Qasa

To search for housing and use our service, you need to create a user account with us. You can use your real name or a fictional one. Once you have an account, you’re ready to start searching for housing and contacting landlords. As a tenant, you can publish your tenant profile, which allows landlords to reach out to you.

Search for Housing

Go to qasa.se and click on ‘Search for Housing’ in the menu bar. There, you can enter your preferences and save them to receive notifications when new listings that meet your criteria are posted. We recommend that you apply for multiple properties simultaneously.

Be cautious about communicating outside of Qasa’s platform, as this may increase the risk of fraud.

Congratulations on Signing the Rental Agreement – What Happens Next?

Moving can involve a lot of details to consider. Below is a checklist of some important things to keep in mind.

Contact landlords

In the advertisement, click the ‘Contact’ button. When you reach out to landlords, you are not committing to anything. Write a brief introduction about yourself and explain why you are interested in renting the property.

Make sure you agree on the move-in and move-out dates, the duration of the rental, and request a draft of the rental agreement.

We recommend that you meet the landlord and view the property before signing the contract to ensure it meets your expectations.

Contract

Once the landlord has created a draft of the rental agreement, you will be able to view it in your conversation on the platform. The landlord signs first, followed by you. If you are able to share your name with the landlord, you can easily sign with BankID. The rental contract also provides additional benefits to ensure a secure rental experience for both the tenant and the landlord.
